Yankees Eye Trade for Athletics’ Catcher Shea Langeliers

The New York Yankees are contemplating a significant trade this offseason to acquire a catcher, with Shea Langeliers of the Athletics emerging as a prominent candidate. Langeliers finds himself in a precarious situation this offseason, as the Athletics are in the midst of appointing a new general manager and president of baseball operations, which could lead to a shakeup of their roster.

With Langeliers being in the final stages of his contract control, the Athletics might opt to trade him for younger talent, especially if they are preparing for another rebuilding season. MLBTR.com’s Mark Polishuk suggested that a trade involving the Yankees could include pitcher Will Warren along with two pitching prospects, Kyle Carr and Cade Smith. This deal could serve both teams as the Yankees seek to enhance their lineup with Langeliers, who has impressively recorded 111 home runs over his MLB career.
