Mike McCarthy Highlights Jalen Ramsey’s Significant Role with Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers secured their 26-29 overtime victory against the Buccaneers, thanks in part to Jalen Ramsey’s pivotal sack that halted Tampa Bay’s comeback efforts. Head coach Mike McCarthy took a moment during his Monday press conference to commend Ramsey for his key performance when the team needed it the most.

McCarthy emphasized Ramsey’s versatility and football intelligence, noting, “Jalen Ramsey, just a multidimensional player. You could play him anywhere in the back.” He elaborated on Ramsey’s ability to adapt positions and mentioned how the execution of both TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith set the stage for Ramsey’s impactful play at the game’s conclusion.

Beyond his game-sealing sack, Ramsey contributed significantly throughout the match, performing close to a team-high with 10 total tackles, including nine solo, along with four tackles for loss and two quarterback hits. This performance set a season-high for Ramsey in both total and solo tackles in a game. Through six games this season, he boasts 37 combined tackles and has had a productive career in the league as an eight-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.
