The Los Angeles Zoo will kick off its Halloween celebration with the annual “Boo at the L.A. Zoo” event scheduled for the weekends of October 24-25 and October 31-November 1. Activities will run daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each day, guests can enjoy six trick-or-treat stations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., allowing children to collect Halloween treats along the pathway from the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo to Treetop Terrace.
Visitors are encouraged to either bring their own trick-or-treat bags or buy them from zoo gift shops, with candy available while supplies last. Special attractions at Treetop Terrace will include games, pumpkin painting for an extra fee, and free activities presented by Give Kids Art and the Los Angeles Public Library on specific days. The event will also host live entertainment, with performances from the Bob Baker Marionette Theater on October 31.
Guests can look forward to meeting various costumed characters from beloved family-friendly Halloween shows, experiencing a new inflatable corn maze for children, and capturing memories at five themed photo spots across the zoo. Animal-themed activities will showcase pumpkin enrichment demonstrations while zookeepers provide informative talks on vultures and condors during each event day.
The zoo’s Conservation Expo will educate visitors about conserving bats, vultures, and condors. Exciting reptile exhibits await in the zoo’s LAIR, featuring a diverse array of creatures. Attendees will also have the chance to name one of the new Boer goat kids at the zoo, with name suggestions collected each day during the event. While guests are invited to dress in costume, restrictions apply to full-face masks and other items that could cause discomfort. Activities are included with general zoo admission or an active membership.
