Clippers Re-Sign Promising Guard Just Days After Cutting Ties

The Los Angeles Clippers have re-signed guard Cam Christie to a two-way contract, just two days after waiving him. Christie cleared waivers and will now occupy the team’s final two-way roster spot, joining guard Jalen Pickett and forward Nick Martinelli who hold the remaining spots.

At 21 years old, Christie is a promising player with a background as a second-round pick, having averaged 2.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game in the previous season. His efficiency has been a concern, as he has only shot 36.8% from the field in his two seasons, with a low 22.6% from three-point range. The Clippers had waived him just before his contract became guaranteed, likely influenced by their depth in the guard position, which includes notable players like Darius Garland and first-round pick Keaton Wagler. With the start of the 2026-27 season approaching, the Clippers will aim to perform well against the Sacramento Kings.
