Blake Grupe’s Status in Doubt Following Knee Injury Against Cardinals

Following the Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Los Angeles Rams released kicker Harrison Mevis, signing Blake Grupe as his replacement. However, in the Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals, Grupe’s appearance was cut short due to injury.
Grupe sustained the injury during his first kickoff, where he was forced to tackle the returner after a long return and appeared to be in distress after being spun around. After successfully making a 44-yard field goal to start the scoring for the Rams, he was seen limping and heading towards the locker room, reportedly with a knee injury and what seemed to be a shoulder issue. The team has listed his return as doubtful. Should he be unable to continue, punter Ethan Evans will take over the kicking responsibilities, while wide receiver Jordan Whittington may handle the holding duties for kicks.
