Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath has endorsed City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, enhancing Raman's chances to defeat Mayor Karen Bass in the forthcoming election next month.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath has endorsed City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, enhancing Raman’s chances to defeat Mayor Karen Bass in the forthcoming election next month. The announcement was made during a news conference Tuesday morning at Gloria Molina Grand Park.
Horvath, representing nearly 2 million residents in the third supervisorial district, is the sole county supervisor to support Raman, while the rest of her colleagues on the Board of Supervisors have voiced their backing for Bass. Notably, on the City Council, most of Raman’s colleagues have also chosen to support Bass, creating a challenging landscape for Raman.
Despite some criticisms, Horvath expressed optimism regarding the potential collaboration between Raman and the supervisors. Raman echoed this sentiment, emphasizing her commitment to addressing homelessness in Los Angeles.
