British Gymnasts Target Olympic Qualifications at Rotterdam Championships

The 54th World Championships in artistic gymnastics is taking place in Rotterdam from October 20 to 25, with over 400 athletes from 84 nations competing for qualification spots for the 2028 Olympics. This prestigious event allows the top three nations in each team category the chance to secure a spot at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Great Britain, having recently retained its European title, is poised to challenge for medals, while teams from China and Japan are seen as favorites.

The USA women, who have dominated team finals since 2011, will rely on seasoned competitor Skye Blakely, alongside Olympic gold medallist Hezly Rivera. Notably, the Russians are participating under a neutral status, facing challenges with visa issues for some athletes. Great Britain features standout gymnasts including Alice Kinsella, who returns after maternity leave, and other titans like Jake Jarman and Courtney Tulloch. Fans can tune in to live coverage on BBC throughout the week.
