Lakers Were Reportedly Interested in Naz Reid This Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers have been focused on addressing their need for a high-level two-way wing or forward. While much attention was given to their pursuit of Jonathan Kuminga, they also showed interest in Naz Reid, according to Dan Woike, a Lakers reporter for The Athletic.

Speaking on “The Zach Lowe Show,” Woike noted that while the Lakers didn’t present a serious offer for Reid, they were proactive in their inquiries. He explained that the team evaluated Reid as an option among players whose teams faced salary constraints. With significant changes made by the Timberwolves this summer, including trading Reid to the Charlotte Hornets as part of the deal for LaMelo Ball, the Lakers identified Reid as a potential target early on.
