Patrick Mahomes Provides Encouraging Update on Knee Status After Victory
The Kansas City Chiefs are still unbeaten in the 2026 season, improving their record to 5-0 after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

The Kansas City Chiefs are still unbeaten in the 2026 season, improving their record to 5-0 after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. They are the only undefeated team in the AFC, with the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings as the other teams yet to lose in the NFL.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is recovering from a significant knee injury sustained in December, reflected on his knee health following the game. Mahomes mentioned to the media that he is feeling better physically since the bye week but still lacks some burst. He stated, “After the bye week, I felt better physically… There’s still some burst I don’t have… But that’s something we’ll continue to work on,” according to Charles Goldman. While he has been practicing regularly and hasn’t missed any games, it remains uncertain when or if he will regain his full speed.
