Following an 11-season career in the NBA, D’Angelo Russell, known for his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, has signed with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association after being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies. Russell’s last season in the NBA was particularly challenging, as he played only 26 games with the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 10.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.

Russell cited the inspiration he draws from former NBA player Stephon Marbury, who became a legendary figure in the CBA, and noted that he is now teammates with JaVale McGee and Brandon Goodwin, both of whom have NBA experience.
