Authorities in Los Angeles are actively seeking a driver responsible for a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a pedestrian in North Hollywood early Monday morning. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:20 a.m. on Sherman Way, just west of Lankershim Boulevard, as stated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators have identified the suspect’s vehicle as a light-colored SUV, possibly a yellow Jeep Wrangler, which was headed east on Sherman Way when it struck a pedestrian outside a designated crosswalk. The driver failed to stop and continued eastbound towards Lankershim Boulevard, neglecting to provide assistance or identify themselves. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the victim dead at the scene, though their identity has not been disclosed. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information regarding this case to reach out to Valley Traffic Division Officer Lozon at 818-644-8117 or Officer Reyes at 818-644-8114. There is a potential reward of up to $50,000 available through the city’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program for information leading to the driver’s identification and subsequent legal action.
