The theft of trading cards from PSA has evolved from an initial estimation into a nearly $1 million investigative matter, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. The incident occurred on October 13 when a FedEx truck parked near PSA’s headquarters was compromised, leading to the loss of graded sports cards, Pokémon cards, and other collectibles.
Police reports indicate that two pallets containing around 200 packages were stolen, along with an additional 50 packages from a third pallet. The overall number of stolen packages tallies approximately 250; however, the full extent of the loss is still being assessed. PSA is working with law enforcement to address the situation and has deactivated certifications for the stolen items to prevent their resale.
